EN is helping construct a medical facility in Shinyanga Region, Tanzania under the leadership of Dr. Damas Ngoma of Jesus Cares Ministries.

Empowering Nations supports Brian Rushaju’s clinical practice known as R.U.N Dental (Reaching Unreached dental Needs). He has dedicated his life to using his compassion and skills to bless the people in his surrounding villages through dental hygienic care.

Mission

Brian has a heart for the disadvantaged members of his surrounding communities, specifically children and those with HIV. Poor teeth conditions is one of the leading causes of death for those diagnosed with HIV; Brian sees this as a great need and is eager to use his education, skills and heart of service to meet it as best he can.

RUN DENTAL aims to improve the quality of life for children living with HIV through dental hygiene to reduce infection and improve food intake, which should result in nutritional benefits.

Method

This children’s dental clinic is practiced in Naganbo, Kasangati, and Wakiso Districts in Uganda. It purposes to link community member to other HIV/AIDS care centers (including FAMILY HOPE CENTER) that they are in partnerships with. These clinics include two days of clinical outreach visits where they provide oral health education to children and adults with HIV. Following is a dental screening for all children to note specific health needs, supervised tooth brushing exercises, and tooth extractions when necessary.
